Calvin Laurent, better known to his friends and most of his fans as 'Cal', made a splash in the movie industry when he wrote and directed New Jersey ode Garden State. His notoriety increased in the years later with psychological puzzlers Memento and Fight Club among others. He flexed his comic muscle and then flexed his comics muscle, writing and directing the praised Dark Knight.
His personal life is and always has been something of a mystery as the man was never one to talk about where he was from or what he had been up to in his life off-camera. His interviews tend to center completely on the films he created, never veering into his personal life or the relationships he holds "in real life."
Not much is known about Cal as a result, only that he originally hailed from Dublin, Ireland, before moving to Australia with his family at a young age. He later relocated again to the United States in order to continue his education at the famed UCLA film school. Young for a director of his accomplishments, the entertainment industry should expect to see great things from him in the upcoming years.
